A full time position available in Technical Support Department for Access Control/Security Company

Tech Support Responsibilities
· Monitor phones for an average of 150-180 incoming calls per day (Average 20 calls per tech per day).
· Daily tech support email.
· Software/firmware testing, beta testing, reporting bugs.
· Follow up on escalations for second or third level support.
· Direct Inside Sales, Rep and Regional Sales Manager phone and email support.
· Creating, "How to", technical documentation and help files.
· Monitoring documentation for errors, initiating ECN.
· Field service visits.
· Database Conversions, including further direct support for hardware integration with converted sites.
· Learning new product quickly as they come, learning new Windows operating systems as needed.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:

Tech Support Technical Requirements
· 3-5 years alarm or access control installation experience
· Advanced skills with Microsoft Windows operating systems
· SQL database troubleshooting expertise.
· Sr. Network Administration skills including routers, switches, TCP/IP, DHCP, Virtual machine, firewalls, V-LANs, local and domain wide security policies and port troubleshooting expertise.
· A+ certification, Windows MCP or MCSE emphasis on Infrastructure certification, Windows servers and workstations expertise, some Active Directory and LDAP knowledge,
Plain old telephone system lines (POTS), no phone line (NPL) and modem expertise.
· Electrical, power supply, grounding and wiring expertise.
· CCTV, NVR, EVR, DVR, IP and PTZ camera expertise.
· Expertise with various locking mechanisms, gate operators and elevator controls, Alarm panels and other access control peripherals.
· Wireless RS-485 Expertise.
· General radio frequency expertise, emphasis on 125KHz, 13.6KHz, 2.4 GHz and 900MHz.
· Knowledge of RF devices
· Special applications expertise for nonstandard access control hardware configurations.
Knowledge of TCP/IP and general computer networking
· Knowledge of network routers
· Access control: various credentials including FIPS-201 compliance knowledge, Wiegand, barcode technology, magstripe technology, Biometrics technology, hardware/firmware/software expertise.
· Low – Voltage experience a plus
